Sales Rockstar

Sales Rockstar – Full Time

An ever-growing, Manhattan-based, digital media company is looking to add someone to take company sales to new heights. The ideal candidate should be an engaging and tech-savvy self-starter who has a keen ability to keep every customer satisfied. This individual will have the opportunity to lead our sales efforts in assigned regions and the freedom to work in an environment that promotes creativity whenever possible. He/She will manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery, ensuring that our company’s best is experienced every step of the way.

It is vital that this individual understand the essence of a startup business. Despite the fact that we are in our fourth year, our makeup is much more community than corporate machine. Everyone pitches in. Though the concentration will be sales, this individual may wear the hat (or shoes if you’re against headwear) of an HR Director one day and proofreader the next.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients. (Stating the obvious now complete)
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with current and potential clients, resolving any concerns along the way.
  • Craft strategic plans to identify future targets and project future contacts.
  • Identify and connect with leads and new sales prospects, pushing awareness of the company to the highest level.
  • Push the envelope preparing presentations, proposals and sales contracts that offer a unique take on what e can offer.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Coordinate coworkers to meet every step in order to close sales.
  • Brainstorm and implement attention-seizing sales activities.
  • Other duties as assigned. (Nothing life-threatening, we’re fairly certain.)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Spread our good word at trade shows and seminars.
  • Follow-up for collection of payment (without breaking thumbs).
  • Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.

Requirements

Literacy. (The fact that you recognize that word is a good start.)

General knowledge of the digital media.

Ability to:

  • persuade and influence others (for good reasons);
  • develop and deliver attention-grabbing presentations;
  • compose and edit written materials;
  • connect and communicate with people.
  • present and execute new advertising and sales promotion techniques.

The aforementioned can typically be acquired by earning a Bachelor’s Degree and/or having three-to-five years of sales or marketing experience.

Professional attire. The Sales Rockstar will often be seen as the company’s face, meaning we hope to avoid sales calls in sweat pants.

Possession of a valid state driver’s license within 60 days of employment (or a tight-knit relationship with a loyal chauffer), as the position involves a significant amount of local travel.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule and freedom to travel for overnight stays.

Work Environment

Working conditions are not typical for an office environment. We believe in the fostering and growth of creativity and our workspaces reflect that. If you are looking for a cubicle, jammed printer, and unwashed community coffee pot, you won’t find it here. You will find open workspaces and creative areas, and fresh, locally roasted coffee. You’ll also find the occasional four-day workweek!
Though the position is Sales Rockstar, sales groupies are not provided.
